Our Commitment to Sustainability
Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel is committed to reducing our impact on the environment wherever possible, without compromising on guest comfort.
As a New Zealand Owned and operated hotel, we are committed to recycling and reducing waste by buying in bulk and using biodegradable and NZ made products wherever possible. By using pump bottles to dispense the soap in guest bathrooms we reduce the need for individually wrapped soaps. Our bathroom amenities are cruelty free and New Zealand made. As part of our guest services, we request that guests clearly indicate which items they require laundered each day, with the common aim of providing the highest level of service, without creating unnecessary water usage, handling and transport costs.
We use the ENJO chemical free cleaning system which allows us to reduce chemical use.
Consciousness in Design
Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel was consciously designed and built to retain a larger amount of heat within the building, reducing the consumption of electricity in cooler months. Other initiatives include kitchen systems to reduce waste, automated control systems for air conditioning and lighting and manual touch pads in guest rooms which enable guests to control their environment and to assist in reducing energy consumption. The hotel also boasts a C-bus Lighting Automation System – with sensors throughout the public areas, lighting levels in the hotel adjust automatically to outside light levels and also respond to the movement of guests, allowing us to reduce energy consumption while providing for the safety and freedom of guests moving throughout the property.
Throughout the hotel, a commitment to using local products and locally grown produce, showcasing local interior designers and artists and the creation of a hotel vegetable and herb garden ensure that we support our local economy while providing our guests with the highest standards of service and enjoyment.
